PRAY FOR THE LOST!
"Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot
save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a
separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from
you so that he does not hear. We know that God does not listen to sinners, but
if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him. The LORD
is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous. First of all,
then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be
made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may
lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good,
and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be
saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and
there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave
himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. The
Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient
toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach
repentance."(Isaiah 59:1-2, John 9:31, Proverbs15:29, 1 Timothy 2:1-6, 2 Peter 3:9)
The compilation above sums up the position of the unrepentant.
God does not listen to the prayers of sinners. Apart from the prayer of
repentance and trust their prayers for help and comfort fall on non-listening
ears... For example, if someone completely unrelated to you who had seen how
well you had raised your children and/or grandchildren, how you had provided for them,
how you had protected them and loved them with abandon, would come to you and
told you how they had observed your passionate love for your family. They are coming
to you now to request that you would give them the same privilege without any
family ties you would probably; definitely refuse their request on the basis of
lack of familial rights. God has the same position. Until the sinner has been
brought into the family He will hear their prayers but not listen to their
requests.
